Friday Fried Day--No, Friday Firing Day

Coffee in the New York skyline mug, "Soul Meets Body" by Death Cab For Cutie on iTunes. Today finishes up the work week... just typing that sentence makes me roll on the floor laughing hysterically. Today BEGINS the firings for the Buyer's Market. I have seven new collaborative pieces with Elliott Metal Works for this show--four wall pieces and three symbols--to do and assorted other platters and bowls to round out the display. I also have one more gallery order to do before leaving. Not a bad amount--definitely do-able without killing myself--but not a weekend off either.

So far today the glass artist has disputed with the City of Atlanta Solid Waste Services about responsibility for the construction debris on her studio curbside, dragged the construction debris from the studio curbside over to her neighbor's curbside, made a run for cat food, set up an appointment with the accountant for next Monday, and finalized the number and placement of the collaborative pieces in the co-booth at the BMAC. Some some business, some glass business, no glass. Off to rectify the lack of the latter. Happy Friday work-week workers!

What's the City of Atlanta saying about your trash? Are they suggesting putting it in a trailer park and telling folks a twister passed through?

First of all, it's not MY trash grumble, grumble, grumble. The people who rehabbed the house next door to the studio put their trash bin (and several bags of stuff) in front of my house when I was first there under the pretext that "They pick up for me but not for them". And that time (because I pleaded with the garbage men to take it all) it worked.

The next time they put out a bunch of trash in front of the studio they said it was because they had just planted grass on their property. This time the garbage men wouldn't take it--and I can see why, it was almost too heavy for me to roll and it would be impossible to lift into the truck. So it sat on the curb for a month. Finally the city cited *me* for construction garbage because it's in front of MY property. Not anymore it isn't!
