Dallas Day 1

Hello from the World Trade Center in Dallas! I sit in my permanent showroom with sporadic internet access and contemplate my navel. The showroom is beautiful, the manager Amy is wonderful, the other exhibitors are friendly, professional and have gorgeous work... but it's just not happening for me. I might change my mind by the weekend, but right now I do not feel that a showroom geared toward interior decorators is a good match for me.

The day is over, we're back at the hotel, and I am ready to fall into my eyelids. Given the crappy bandwidth at the WTC, I am going to post in the mornings from now on. As in tomorrow. G'night already.

brenda, do NOT change your mind! it is NOT worth the time, effort, $ and travel!!!!! bring your stuff home and chalk it up to an experiment tried ;) you certainly have investigated many different venues for selling your work, but this one isn't really fitting your business model is it? ;P looking forward to seeing you next week...

I inclination not concur on it. I think nice post. Especially the title attracted me to read the whole story.

While we're thinking about this venue, I'd keep in mind exactly how many sales you actually made from this. I know you don't get into the specifics, but it might put the final touch on your decision.

I just love the way display venues and conferences charge you a bundle for internet / WiFi access and then give you a p'tak connection.

Don't you all know me at all?!? Pigs will fly out of my behind before I change my mind about this! I have a better chance of closing my studio and becoming a landscape designer.

My mom is doing the show with me. Just like old times--me and mom on the trade show road again. :-)
